Sacred Awakening

Jesus says, “For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.” (Luke 12:23)

Gangaji Sacred Awakening Conference Call RegistrationBy now most of you know that this is not a typical Jesus blog.  The perspective presented here is one of awakening better known as enlightenment or freedom from suffering—awakening to the truth of yourself in the Heart of Christ. It is not a Christian blog in that it does not adhere to any kind of dogma, catechism or Christian denomination.  On the simplest level this blog is simply an invitation turn your attention where Jesus is pointing.  What does he want you to see, to hear, to understand? If you think you know, stop for a moment and not know. Not knowing offers you the simple opportunity to discover for yourself without any idea or concept. Inquiring is self-discovery and it is through your own discovery that the profound depth of his message can be recognized, not understood, but recognized. It is a discovery so sacred so pristine it contains the power to change your life forever. Truly, it is a sacred awakening.

Jesus says, “For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.” (Luke 12:23)  Jesus offers you many clues that lead to self-discovery.  If you look at his words as a question, rather than a statement, you have an opportunity to look into eternity.  What is life? How is you body more than clothing? For years I was mystified by the Bible, it seemed that there was some hidden message that was not easily perceived, the language was strange, and incomprehensible—it left me feeling unfulfilled and disillusioned.  In 1997 I had a profound mystical experience of Jesus that was the catalyst for a search for Truth. This search ended in July of 2001 when a profoundly deep prayer led me to one of the most profound teachers of our time—Gangaji.  Her simple invitation,  ‘To stop, be still, be quiet and discover who you are at the core,’ opened the flood gates of true wisdom.  Suddenly all scripture became crystal clear.  It didn’t matter if it was the sutras of Buddha, the words of Christ, the Quran, or the Upanishads—suddenly, infallibly I heard with out hearing the deepest message of Truth—the deepest message of Jesus—it was and continues to be a Sacred Awakening.  Gangaji has been invited to participate in a global conversation that includes many of the world’s leading spiritual teachers in The Shift Network’s Sacred Awakening conference series—a deep conversation that contemplates the question: What does it mean to live a sacred life?  Later this month you can participate in this conversation with Gangaji by phone. How can this global meeting help you to understand the teaching of Jesus on an even deeper level?

It has become increasingly clear to me that this blog, although powerful, is limited in its ability to connect with you on a deeper level.  This realization is the catalyst for a big shift for me as a teacher.  Very soon I will be offering you an opportunity to participate in an ongoing global phone conference. Also, I am willing to travel to speak in person in your local area.  If you are interested in the global conference call, or you would like me to travel to your local area, please let me know by emailing jillw@wisdomrock.org

To give you an idea on how what the this global phone conference that I will be hosting works, I recommend that you register for the conference that Ganagji will be leading on February 18th at 5:30PM PST  In order to participate in the call all you will need to register on the Shift Network site by clicking this link: http://sacredawakeningseries.com/Gangaji  To determine what time/day that is in your local area please use this following time conversion calculator (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html).
In preparation for this global conversation with Gangaji I invite you to deeply contemplate: What does it mean to live a sacred life?  Is a sacred life limited to some ideal of hardship and sacrifice that most saints offer as example or is it something deeper? What does it really mean to live a sacred life?  What does Jesus mean when he says, “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22)
The next article will focus on was uncovered during what I am confident will prove to be a profoundly deep conversation.

If you are interested in an ongoing global conference call with me or if you are interested in me traveling to your local area, please do not forget to email me at jillw@widomrock.org
I am deeply grateful for your participation in this blog and this profound opportunity to participate in the global conversation Sacred Awakening.

    Dear Jill,
a lot of deep thought and understanding goes into this blog. For myself, when I have pondered, meditated upon and thought about Jesus’ teaching, days or weeks later it suddenly hits me as to how very simple His teachings really are.
When the symbols (the eye) and metaphors are discovered/uncovered, I realised how simply TRUE His teachings are.
They all point to inward thinking - not outward looking where we see only the illusion and not the reality.

‘For life (spiritual) is more than food (He doesn’t refer to diets(!) but as we say ‘food for thought’ but merely having a deep faith and trust in Him and in ourselves (our ‘core’ as you keep reminding us)because we are made in His image (not the physical one but the Higher Conscious one. ‘…the body is more than clothing’ the Spiritual Body which lies very close to the physical one. ‘clothing’ is what covers our naked physical body, but the spiritual body is pure and does not need to be or should not be hidden away. Then we realise that each and every one of us are the same, we are all One with the Creator/God or whatever Name we call Him by.
This I feel deeply is the Sacred Awakening - that we realise, understand and believe we are all of the One Body/Spirit, no matter what colour, cast lr creed we are in this physical world.
If we live knowing at the very core of our being that we are all from the One Spirit, but are experiencing to learn at different levels in this physical world, to live our separate lives but with the one thought that we must learn to tolerate the differences we find, accept these, forgive any action we do not like acted upon us, and extend a more unconditional love without prejudice or judgement.
We can be very close to living a Sacred Life.
The ‘eye’ or inner eye which sees at a deeper spiritual level shines out (the lamp)and like ‘moths to a flame’ draws others closer to us, because they can see our ‘light’ the honest and truthful Soul (our consciousness, our clear and uncluttered, loving self which shines out as the light of ur body (or His Light).
The aura or energy that surrounds our physical body takes on the colour or glow or our inner self - which we should keep clear and bright.
No worries, anger, mistrust, wrong - doing which dulls the light, but faith, unconditional love trust which keeps the light / glow around us clear and strong.
This is how I understand and try to exercise the teachings of Jesus, our lord.
Love, Light and the Grace of the Lord remain with you and yours always.

    Dearest Starina,

As you say, ‘This I feel deeply is the Sacred Awakening - that we realize, understand and believe we are all of the One Body/Spirit, no matter what color, cast lr creed we are in this physical world.’

The challenge is to move beyond belief or the concepts of truth that we are One to deeply recognize the vast Silent Still Love that you are at the core, that everyone is at the core.

Deep self inquiry leads to loving yourself as love itself. And in that realization you naturally live a sacred life as a love that no words can ever describe. Love simply cannot be thought it is pure Being.

It is the direct experience of this Truth that leads to true fulfillment—A Sacred Life.

    Sending you Love and Support…Always

    Dear Jill,
Once before you invited me to join in a phone conference - unfortunately i failed to connect.
My reception where I live is not good; I am surrounding by the upper floor balconies which also obstructs my mobile phone calls; I have to go outside to call out.
Thank you for your response to my rply to your ‘blog’.
There are too many wars, with guns etc… and with disillusioned lies and misunderstanding.
But then, we have been warned that the state of the world will get much, much worse, till the ’shift’ I and others feel, will wipe-out the malignancy that is now ruling.
God willing it will happen sooner rather than later.
We must keep faith and trust and be patient.
    Love, Light and Grace always

    dear jill

sacred awokinig i always i read you articles same times same words is most power full my life.

dear jill at this time i asked my selves im really entered heaven’ the answered is” yes”

why Jesus did it all there is noting left for me to do,ball of my sins ,past, present, and future, are excused.and i am saved

    dear jill your questions
first what dose he wont you to see ‘,to hear’.to understanding’  even if you think you know? who you are the core  what dose it mens to live a secred life? life is Jesus with out Jesus is nothing, JESUS SAID BLESSED RATHER ARE WHO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD AND OBEY IT,LUK 11:28 CHRIST THE LIGHT LATER APPERS withe in your heart.

dear jill same times I am weak so immediately  I pray say that J Jesus   I NEED YOU I REPENT FOR THE LIFE I’VElived apart from you tank you for dying on the cross to take the penalty for my sins i believe you are gods son andi now reserve you as my savior and lord i commit my life to follow you.

dear jill our cndition  first we must understand that we are separeted from God. the chasm dividing us is both wide and deep. we inherited afatal defect at birth. as a result ew have lived our lives independently  from him. the Bible emphasizes this stark realty:”for all have sinned andfall short of the glory ofGod”(romans 3:23)if we canit come to grips with the fact that sin separetes us from God.we’llnever come home spiritually, for there is no need for a savior.

    GOD BE WITH YOU!

    February 7th, 2010 at 5:29 pm

  7. Jill Warner says:

    Dearest Demiru,

The name Jesus means ‘God with Us.’ The only fatal defect inherited at birth is the idea that you are somehow separate from God. It lives in the deep believe that you are hopelessly flawed and unlovable as you are.

But, and this is a big But, God does not make junk! Who you really are is so perfect so pristine. Never doubt the majesty that lives in your own Heart!

Jesus says, “Neither say here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)

When you allow your mind to fall into the depts of your heart you can see directly intimately that you are the Love that Jesus came here to reveal.

In that Revelation you live a most fulfilled and sacred life.

    Always Love is Here…

  9. Gary Eugene Howell says:

This article (sacred awakening) draws some sharp concerns to my mind. When Jill mentioned the words enlightenment I immediately thought “oh no”. My experience lately is that “enlightenment” is usually a word associated with religions that deny Jesus Christ as being God.
My further concern for Jill was heightened when she wrote about the fact that she was mystified for years by the bible until she had a mystical experience. God said that those without the spirit can not understand the things of the spirit, which again, causes me great concern for Jill’s salvation. And if that wasn’t enough, just a little bit further into the article I find that Jill has turned away from Jesus in order to follow Gangaji! “Oh no!”

I tell you the truth, unless Gangaji follows Jesus Christ, and him only, she will go straight to hell. And those who follow her will be close behind. My prayer is that Jill gets into a bible believing church which teaches that salvation is only through Jesus Christ. If Jill will ask Jesus to make the bible clear to her, it will become so.
Jill, try this for just one month, get yourself around some people your age who are filled with the Holy Spirit, if your not sure who has the Holy Spirit, ask Jesus and he will show you.

  10. Starina Makar says:

    Dear Gary Eugene Howell,
I read your above reply to Jill’s blog, then I read the ‘criteria’ you have laid down for dating etc…
I wonder have you heard the Lord Jesus Christ mention that REAL LOVE is His Love for us all, saint or sinner - and His Love is UNCONDITIONAL!
Go back to your church and ask the priest/vicar/bishop or whoever is guiding you - what our Lord Jesus means by UNCONDITION LOVE - the REAL SPIRITUAL LOVE.
Good luck with your second marriage.
Did you ever sit down with your first wife and ask her why she left you - may be you would have learned something about yourself.
Gagaji has found her spiritual path, Jill has found her spiritual path - our Lord Jesus Christ has you in His loving arms and will guide you away from your sadness; you will be less judgemental and well on the path to His teaching of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for everyone.
I do not find anything incorrect in what you are stting out to find but it is a pity you did not ask your first wife why she had such a change of heart during her marriage to you.
But, JESUS LOVES YOU REGARDLESS of your strict criteria for dating/marriage. I wish you luck next time.
May the Love, Grace and Peace of the Lord guide you and keep you.
    Starina
Dearest Jill and Gangaji, I wish you both, and your families the Unconditional Love which our Lord Jesus Christ has shown us so that we, in turn, may go out and show His Love to all others, regardless of colour, caste or creed.
    His Blessings on you always.
    Starina.

  12. Jill Warner says:

    Dearest Beloved Gary,

You will find that the mind always has sharp concerns about this or that. The heart has the natural capacity to open to everything and everyone without concern. Certainly Love bears all things.

First and foremost, you need to re-read the article. It seems you have made things up in your mind that were not stated in the article. There was a time in my life when the Bible mystified me, NOW I have perfect clarity on the Bible and what it is meant to reveal.

Yes, the word enlightenment is a tough word, especially for Christians who have little understanding of its meaning. The norm is to equate it to Buddhism instead of understanding that enlightenment is a direct revelation of the Kingdom of God, which is alive within you.

Just as a point of clarity. I did not, as you suggest, turn away from Jesus. I did turn away from the ‘church’ which I know from direct experience knows very little about Jesus or his teaching.

If anything, Gangaji’s teaching of Self-inquiry has opened my heart to a profoundly deep understanding of the message of Christ. It has brought me closer to him.

As far as hell is concerned. I don’t think it is appropriate for you or anyone to proclaim who is going to hell or who is going to be saved—this demonstrates your pure ignorance of the teaching of Jesus Christ.

My salvation is not your concern. My soul rests with God and is in God, now and forever.

In Deep Love and Gratitude for your concern….

    Sending you Love and Support…Always!

    Dear Jill,
Today I read your reply to Gary’s comments above. I sincerely hope he reads your reply with an open heart and considers, seriously and deeply, what you are trying to sayto him.
Personally, I feel that Gary is a very sad young man, he is hurting and feels betrayed by those he once loved.
I pray that he opens his heart to Jesus rather than to the ‘church’ where too much dogma is preached.
Jesus Christ is BEAUTY in all its essences.
I know that Jesus loves Gary and is waiting for Gary to open the door, that is his heart, to let Jesus in.
Thank you for your ‘blogs’ which are always stimulating, inspiring and awakening to the Truth that is Christ.
    Love and Light always

    Hi Jill,

Breath of fresh air. I woke up this morning and yesterday morning with the word quiet in my heart and mind. I realized peace everytime I let go of everything I was thinking, feeling, seeing, hearing. And let God be God. The message is right on. Father God is calling all of to just let go. We are what and who He says we are now. All things are ours now! I have been seeking for truth and Jesus like there is no tomorrow for the last four years. Now it is revealed everthing that I have been seeking is Here in me. Christ in me is the Glory that I hoped for. Christ in me is everpresent. We are light living beings. I found your website this morning by asking Christ for experiences with Him now. Love and Blessings! There is a Great Awakening covering the whole earth now! Jesus Glory covers the whole earth as the waters cover the sea! The Love of Jesus is Changing Everything to reflect His Love. The Love of Jesus is Revelation. Peace and Love, Pamela

Why all these Swamijis and Gurus invade Europe and USA? Why cant they go to Africa like the Christian missionaries reach the unreached. Jill shall not succumb to the dirty eastern philosophies that promote untouchability, caste system, filthy rituals etc., that has destroyed the Indian soceity with utter selfishness and hypocrisy. We Indians have been liberated from the clutches of Hinduism after lots of sacrifices by Christian miisionaries. why go back to the filth again?

  17. Sylvester says:

Dear Jill, Dont get misguided with Gangaji’s Indian philosophies. Abject poverty, illiteracy and superstition have transformed India in to a breeding ground of all sorts of Godmen: Babas, sadhus, bhagans, gurus and sanyasis like Sathya Saibaba, Maheshyogi, Rajneesh, Sri Sri Ravishankar, Nithyananda and myriad others. But these Godmen are being pampered and patronised by men in power like presidents and prime ministers even some foreign dignitaries that enabled the Godemen to enrich and build their own private empires. A former police officer who probed in to the affairs of some of the Godmen and their Ashrams, could debunk their claims as incarnation of God and their so called supernatural powers and expose them as mere mortals — cheats, criminals and even murderers. Their contribution towards the depressed and exploited in India is nil.

  18. Mike Tom says:

Dear Jill, This Gangaji business is totally unwarranted for a child of Jesus like you. I visited her website and was shocked to know that she has been trained in Varanashi. India a city called Devil City. Here in Varanashi the sadhus practice cannibalism in the name of Hindu God Shiva. Foreign tourists visits this place for drugs. In India we Christians consider that visiting this city is a sin. Like Gangaji’s master there are hundreds of Gurus living In India teachisng mysticism which has nothing to do with Christ. America is getting into slavery of mythis and mystics.Beware the Lord will not tolerate forever.

  20. Jill Warner says:

    Dear Tom, Sylvester, and Gregory,

I understand your concerns and I am very aware that there are people who claim to be gurus who are in reality only interested in self-gain not self-awareness.

Having stated that the lineage of Ramana Marhashi is profound. It is not hindu nor does it adhere to hindu philosophy or mysticism.

It is a simple and direct question that leads directly to the most direct, intimate, experience of Truth.

Ramana never had any concern for someone’s religious beliefs nor did he ever encourage anyone to abandon their religion–He simply asked everyone who came to him, to be still, be quiet and dissover the source of life itself.

Through Ramana’s self-inquiry, I recognize the Love that Jesus continually points to…the eternal Love that is within you and everyone.

Do not take my word for it. Look and see. Know who you are and you will see the light that is shining from everyone regardless of their religious beliefs : )

I promise you—you are Love that is endless. You are Light that is endless—As Jesus illuminate, “You are the Light of the World.”

    Deep Love to you all…
    Jill
